Hi Mandy,
Although I am not yet needing to consider car seats and child safety, the information about traveling with car seats is definitely interesting. You mentioned the lack of consistency from airlines and I think this isn’t good practice. If there is inconsistency it makes it increasingly harder to know what is accepted on a plane and, especially with children, it must make it significantly more stressful. Overall, I think you have invaluable knowledge about kid safety and I hope to use this information when I have to worry about car seats.

Thanks for your comment! I’ve definitely run into issues with airlines about how you actually use the seat once you’re on the plane – when to install it, how much time your should has to be harnessed in, etc. And when you do have kids, even if you forget about this info, I HIGHLY recommend you find a CPST to check your seat. It’s a volunteer service and we love helping!
